K-12 Language Program
International Studies (IS)
In the IS program, students pursue an academic curriculum with an international focus that meets the rigorous standards of both the U.S. and European Union (EU) educational systems.
Elementary
At the elementary level, the program is delivered through an extended-day model. In addition to studying the standard subject areas in English, students receive up to three hours of instruction in their language of choice.
Secondary
At the secondary level, students study literature, mathematics, and social sciences in the target language and are encouraged to pursue Honors and Advanced Placement (AP) courses in English at the highest levels.
Time requirements (Required):
- 300 minutes per week of instruction in language arts/reading/writing in the target world language
- Additional instruction in two core subject areas in the target world language
